Hokyoung Ryu holds a Master degree in Industrial Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Korea (1999) and a Ph.D in Psychology from the University of York, UK (2003). His current role is a Senior Lecturer in Information Technology, Massey University, New Zealand.
His research interests resort to practitioners HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) issues, cognitive informatics, and mobile learning, publishing a number of articles in conferences, journals, and book chapters. He has also edited a book entitled “Innovate Mobile Learning”, and authored a book "Mobile User Interface Analysis and Design: A Practitioner's Guide to Designing User Interface for Mobile Devices." For his trilogy, another book "Cognitive Interface Design" is being prepared.
Dr. Ryu is a member of the British Computer Society’s Human-Computer Interaction Group and the Centre for Mobile Computing at Massey University, and serves as an Associate editor for " Int. J. of Mobile Learning and Organisation" and "Int. J. of Mobile and Blended Learning".
