The DHPC Group is researching some aspects of computational grids including resource discovery, and grid simulation. the picture below shows the coloured load patterns for nodes in a fictitious computational grid incorporating clusters, a wide area network and parallel computing resources. The colour pattern shows the high loads of traffic at spine points in the network as well as the coloured waves of load that spread out through the mesh-based supercomputers.
