Stuart Birks' Home Page
Welcome to my personal web page. I'll not be updating these
pages as often as before because a lot of the new material will
be located on the web page for the Centre for Public
Policy Evaluation, of which I am director. Some
issues of particular personal interest will remain here.
As for what you see here, I think that we are supposed to say
that you have passed the point where Massey University has any
responsibility for content. All flames, etc., should be directed
at me, and copyright is mine too, unless it resides with the
contributors. If you want to use this stuff please ask me first,
especially if you want to make lots of money out of anything here
(I'd be keen to know how it could be done). And here is an
officially worded disclaimer : 'This page, its contents and
style, are the responsibility of the author and do not
necessarily represent the views, policies or opinions of Massey
University'.
If you know where you want to go from this page:
To say a bit about myself, I am employed as a senior lecturer
in economics at Massey
University in Palmerston North, New Zealand, in the Department of Applied and
International Economics. I grew up in Leeds, England, and
have studied at Essex University and the London School of
Economics. I am a separated father of four children.
I looked into my family name recently. This
is what I came up with.
Plans for this page include:
Here are a few links, and one or two other things.
Some of my work is in the area of health economics. Much of
this is done in collaboration with my colleague, Gary Buurman.
Gender Stuff (including some
economics)
There is a mix of material in here, including some links.
This is where I am putting parenting resources, developed with
a special focus on separated fathers.
