Thesis Research Resources

The Research Exercise and Thesis Papers page provides information about the various thesis papers and prospective students may also wish to view staff interests and possible thesis topics for 2011.

The web page as linked at Funding Sources, Ethics and Forms for Postgraduate Students provides access to information and forms for postgraduate students required for their research exercise such as the Agreement to Supervise Postgraduate Research (PDF or MS Word) and Application for Research Funds.

Ross Flett has also created a set of resources for students embarking on the research component of their graduate programme. The CD version will be sent out to students enrolled in a dissertation or thesis e.g. 175.799, 800, 894, 896, 899, 900 etc.

This resource answers many of the questions you will have about doing a thesis e.g. where do I start? how do a find a supervisor? topic? how do I write a research proposal? ethics applications? whats expected of me? what can I expect from my supervisor? how do I develop and refine my topic? what about practicalities? and so on.
