My Research
I research on (1) Industrial Organization, in particular the Economics and Financing of Innovation, Intellectual Property Rights, and Competition Law and Policy, (2) the Economics of Social Interactions and Networks, and (3) Applications of Contract Theory.
I have won a Marsden Fast Start Grant from the Royal Society of New Zealand in the amount of NZ$ 300,000 for research on the interaction of Venture Capital Financing of Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights. This project is joint with Nisvan Erkal and Simona Fabrizi. Marsden Grants are the New Zealand equivalent to NSF Grants in the U.S., only one out of ten applications is successful.
My work has been published in the Journal of Health Economics and Telecommunications Policy. It has been cited in the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Economic Literature, the Journal of Economic Theory, the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, the International Journal of Game Theory, the B.E. Journal of Theoretical Economics (Contributions), Foundations and Trends in Microeconomics, the Journal of Economic Surveys, the International Journal of Electronic Business, Metroeconomica, Rivista di Politica Economica, Annals of Telecommunications, and Telecommunications Policy.

Previous positions
•Before coming to Massey University, I held positions as a research fellow at the Research Institute of Industrial Economics in Stockholm and the University of Toulouse 1 (IDEI and GREMAQ), as well as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Mannheim. During my visit at Berkeley, I supervised undergraduate students in their writing of term papers in Economic Systems and Transition Economics.
