DNA Structure

INTRODUCTION       There are also some interactive tutorials from last years Introductory Biochemistry (22.102) course (on the Protein Structure and Function section) which you may wish to look at. However some of you may not have tried the tutorials, or may have transferred here from another university. If you have not tried one of the interactive turtorials before we suggest you visit the how to use site first and learn how work your way through the tutorials. Then if you would like to recap on the first year work on proteins, it is all there. You can come back here (by pressing BACK at the top of your screen, or by going to the Biochemistry Home page and following the teaching links) and carry on with the DNA material we have for you.

  DNA

DNA stands for Deoxyribonucleic acid. In this short series of tutorials, you will learn what makes up the primary structure of DNA, what the secondary structure looks like, and how to read the secondary structure can be disrupted, both experimentally and in the cell, and how some proteins can interact with DNA. We strongly advise that you work through these tutorials in the order below. If you wish you can do, the quiz at the end of the section but this is not required.
