Visiting representatives from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) attended a tree planting ceremony at the University to honour those killed in the recent US terrorist attacks.

Education Amendment Bill passed
The Education Amendment Bill Number 2 slipped through Parliament without debate on 11 October. However the Vice-Chancellor, Professor James McWha, says the provisions for intervention by the Government in tertiary institutions could have been much worse but for protracted submissions and lobbying from universities.
