Bioreactor and Photobioreactor Engineering

Design, development and scaleup of bioreactors and photobioreactors are addressed for producing antibiotics, enzymes, vaccines, and therapeutic products. Heat transfer, mass transfer, mixing, irradiance and hydrodynamic shear forces in bioreactors are researched.
Bioprocess modeling, optimization and control aspects are investigated.
