The Library’s Maori name, Te Putanga ki te Ao Mātauranga, means “the gateway to the world of knowledge “. It recognises the Library’s commitment to provide a wide range of information to all clients.


The Library is located on all Massey University campuses. Each campus library offers access to book and journal collections, a Wāhi Rorohiko (computer zone) individual and group study spaces, and printing, scanning, and copying facilities.

Library materials support the University’s teaching, learning, and research needs. Increasing numbers of ebooks and ejournals are on offer.


All current staff and students may borrow in person from any Massey University Library, regardless of location.

Massey Library also offers a courier delivery service for print books. All New Zealand-based staff and students can request print books (that are borrowable) to be couriered to their postal address.

Staff and students can borrow materials from other libraries through the Interlibrary Loan service.

Support and help

One-to-one help is provided in person, by phone and by email. Hands-on library skills training is available to students on-campus and many online classes are also available. Subject Librarians provide specialist support to staff and postgraduate students, including individual appointments. Specialist services also support the needs of Māori staff and students.
