The SHAMA Crisis Connection Team has been delivering cultural competence training for mainstream crisis organizations across New Zealand. In this presentation, Juanita Rojas, evaluation lead for the Crisis program in Shama, discusses some of the findings of these trainings.

How often do workers in mainstream organizations raise conversations about culture and faith? How do mainstream organizations capture statistics about ethnic diversity? Do they ask for cultural support/supervision? Understanding how we are doing as organizations who want to work well with people who are culturally, linguistically and religiously diverse is a really important step towards positive change.
