Gavin Clark to lead University’s enterprise ambitions

A trained industrial microbiologist and commercialisation specialist, Dr Gavin Clark, has been appointed to a new role as Massey University's dean, enterprise.

A trained industrial microbiologist and commercialisation specialist, Dr Gavin Clark, has been appointed to a new role as Massey University’s dean, enterprise.

The dean is responsible for the University’s research commercialisation and business development and significantly advancing its enterprise agenda, reporting to Provost Professor Giselle Byrnes.

Currently the chief executive officer of dental materials business Silventum and commercialisation manager for the MacDiarmid Institute, Dr Clark has held several other senior commercialisation roles, including serving as director of commercialisation at Massey from 2003 to 2007.

He completed his PhD in microbiology from the University of Surrey in 1993, having obtained a scholarship from Glaxo Group Research.

Dr Clark commences in the new role in January.
