Ensuring business students develop a global perspective is at the heart of a new scholarship being offered by Massey Business School partner Fuji Xerox.

The Fuji Xerox International Exchange Scholarship was announced at the school’s annual Academic Excellence Awards last week by New Zealand managing director Peter Thomas, via video.

There will be 20 scholarships on offer over the next three years for Massey business students to pursue their course of study at overseas institutions. Applications are open until August 20 for international exchanges that will take place in 2020. Application information can be found here.

Mr Thomas told students he was excited to be building on the already strong relationship between Fuji Xerox and the Massey Business School.

“With this new programme, we're going to be helping 20 students to broaden their experience and leadership skills by spending some of their study time overseas at an international university,” he said.

“There's no doubt that embracing a global world and understanding the trends that are driving the global marketplace are a key part of a modern education. I know that by giving these students the opportunity to spend time overseas, rubbing shoulders with other leaders across the world, they will do amazing things to improve their own capability.”

Dr Jeff Stangl, Massey Business School executive director of strategic partnerships, says contributing to student development is closely aligned with the mandates of both organisations.

“Fuji Xerox is a multinational corporation with a global workforce and it recognises its important role in developing future leaders and growing economies,” he says.

“At Massey we are also doing everything we can to support students to gain international experience. Our global exchange programme has over 200 partners but students have limited ability to take advantage of these amazing opportunities, primarily due to the costs involved.

“Fuji Xerox’s generous support will allow many more students to undertake an invaluable international exchange, as will the Massey Business School’s own Future Leaders’ Programme, which was changed this year to allow students to use the funds to study abroad.”
