The Alistair Betts Scholarship provides financial support to students who complete research in an International Agribusiness or Agricommerce topic that enhances NZ exports
The scholarship was established to honour the memory of Alistair Betts who, when employed by the New Zealand Dairy Board during the 1980s, pioneered access for New Zealand dairy products through South East and Southern Asia
Value and tenure
One scholarship offered annually. The tenure is for one academic year with the value of up to $5000 per annum.

Typically one scholarship will be awarded per year
Students enrolled full time at Massey University in Post-graduate study in Agribusiness or Agricommerce topic that affects New Zealand exports.
The award of the scholarship will be based on the relevance of the research and how the research project aligns with international marketing in agribusiness products.
The Scholarship is awarded by the University Scholarships Committee
Conditions of the scholarship
Payment will be made in two instalments upon confirmation of enrolment in semesters one and two, following the official withdrawal dates for these semesters.
Payment for semester two will be conditional on the applicant passing all enrolled courses of their semester one study.
The scholarship, may be held, in conjunction with other scholarships, bursaries or awards, so long as those scholarships, bursaries or awards permit co-tenure
The Selection Panel has the right to refrain from making an award if there are no suitable applicants and its decision is final.
