The scholarship is tenable for one year.

Eligibility
Applicants must:

be in their fourth or fifth year of the BVSc degree
be from a family that resides in the area currently serviced by the Bay of Islands Veterinary Services at the time of application.
have a preference for working in rural practice after graduation, with a particular interest in production animal practice and be able to demonstrate that interest.

Interview

Selection panel
The scholarship is awarded by the Bay of Islands Veterinary Services selection committee.

Conditions of the scholarship
Interviews will be held in the mid semester break during semester one, in either one of the Bay of Islands Veterinary Services clinics, and applicants will be expected to travel to the interview at their own expense.

The successful applicant will be expected to spend time seeing practice with veterinarians of the Bay of Islands Veterinary Services during the year the scholarship is granted.
