The Peter Densem Undergraduate Scholarship was established in 2017 by Mr Peter Densem for the purpose of supporting students at Massey University who have already completed the first year of an undergraduate programme in the discipline of Agriculture or Horticulture. He wishes to support talented, high achieving students who would otherwise struggle to pay for their study.
Value and tenure
The scholarship shall have a value up to $7,000 per annum (depending on available income).
The scholarship is awarded for one year

Typically up to one scholarship will be awarded
be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate programme in the field of Agriculture or Horticulture at Massey University
have completed their first year of the programme
have a grade point average of 6.0 (B+) or better.
be a New Zealand citizens or permanent residents
The selection will be based on:
a letter of reference from their supervisor testifying to their work ethic
evidence of financial hardship.
The scholarship is awarded by the University Scholarships Committee on the recommendation of the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee, College of Sciences.
Conditions of the scholarship
Other scholarships and awards can be held concurrently with the Peter Densem Undergraduate Scholarship.
Recipients are encouraged to reapply again in subsequent years
The scholarship monies shall be paid in two equal instalments, in May and September, upon confirmation of enrolment in semesters one and two, following the official withdrawal dates for these semesters. The second payment will be subject to the recipient passing all their first semester courses.
At the discretion of the University all, or part, of the annual interest may be reinvested in order to maintain the value of the capital fund or the value of the award for subsequent years.
