Level of Study
The Fruitfed Supplied Horticulture Scholarship was established in 2019 by Fruitfed Supplies (part of PGG Wrightson Ltd). Fruitfed Supplies has provided technical products and services to New Zealand growers for more than 100 years, and wishes to support future leaders and promote excellence in the horticultural industry
Value and Tenure
The value of the scholarship is $5,000, tenable for one year only.
Typical Number on Offer
Typically one scholarship is awarded per year
Applicants must be:
•a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
•undertaking the third year of an undergraduate degree in horticulture at Massey University in the year of application
•enrolled in full-time study, either by internal or online mode
Selection is based on:
•a supporting statement which demonstrates how the applicant has shown as passion for the horticultural industry to date and outlines the applicant’s future career and professional aspirations
The scholarship is awarded by staff of Fruitfed Supplies in consultation with the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee.
The selection panel has the right to refrain from making an award if there are no suitable applicants and its decision is final.
Conditions of the Scholarship
Successful recipients will agree to participate in promotional activities and material for Fruitfed Supplies and PGG Wrightson such as photoshoots and videos for social media.
The availability of the scholarship in future years is subject to Fruitfed Supplies approval
The scholarship may not be awarded to the same recipient twice.
The scholarship amount shall be paid as a one-off payment in May of the year of the award.
The scholarship may be held in conjunction with other scholarships, bursaries or awards.
Application cannot be accepted before 30/09/2020.
