Level of Study
The Sir James Wattie Scholarship for Food Technology supports Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours students
This scholarship is funded by Kraft Heinz, the founder of the food processing company Wattie’s.
Value and Tenure
The value of the scholarship is $10,000 to be paid in four annual instalments of $2,500.
The tenure of the scholarship is four years.
Typical Number on Offer
One scholarship is offered each year.
Applicants must be:
•a New Zealand citizen
•enrolled fulltime in the first year of the Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours
Selection is based on academic merit and demonstration from the applicant of their passion for food technology.
The selection panel consists of the Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours Major Leader and staff from the School of Food and Advanced Technology.
The panel’s choice will be approved by the Senior Research and Development Manager, Kraft Heinz.
The selection committee has the right to refrain from making an award if there are no suitable applicants.
Conditions of the Scholarship
After the first year, subsequent payments are dependent on successful completion of the previous year’s study.
