Hugh MacDiarmid was a veterinarian who dedicated his life to treating and caring for animals. In 2013 Hugh’s sister established the Hugh MacDiarmid Memorial Bursary Fund in memory of her brother.

We're looking for a New Zealand-born veterinary science student experiencing financial need.

What you'll be studying

This is an undergraduate bursary. You will be enrolled in the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and be in your final year of study.

Application checklist

Include the following with your application:

  • one academic reference from a lecturer at Massey University who teaches in in the Bachelor of Veterinary Science programme and is familiar with your capability.
  • one work experience reference from someone in the veterinary area who has worked closely with you
  • your CV
  • an annual budget including all expected income and expenses. You must provide an annual income total and an annual expenses total. If needed, you may email scholarships@massey.ac.nz for a budget template for the undergraduate vet scholarships.
