This scholarship was set up with funds provided by Dr Lois V. Turnbull, a former Massey University agriculture student. Dr Turnbull was encouraged to undertake postgraduate studies because she received scholarship support.

We're looking for a female student who is studying a topic that will benefit agricultural or horticultural industries.

What you'll be studying

This is a postgraduate scholarship. You will be studying a master's degree or PhD with a focus on agriculture or horticulture.

Eligibility criteria

You must be:

  • studying full-time
  • female
  • a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • studying in a specific subject area.

Application checklist

Include the following with your application:

  • your academic transcripts for any tertiary study completed outside of Massey University
  • a statement on how receiving this scholarship would be of benefit to you, and how you believe you meet the intentions of this award. You should state how your research will benefit agricultural or horticultural studies
  • a copy of your Massey University transcripts/current enrolment. You can download your Study History Report from the Student Portal, under ‘Results and Exams’.

Selection considerations

When choosing our recipients, we will consider your academic achievements and other scholarships or bursaries you hold. Preference may be given to New Zealand citizens over permanent residents.
