This bursary was established from a donation in 1931 from the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association in memory of Mr A. A. Thornton. Mr Thornton was instrumental in improving the quality of dairy factories.

We're looking for someone from a dairy farming background who intends to pursue a career within the dairy industry ideally.

What you'll be studying

This is an undergraduate scholarship. You will be enrolled in the second or third year of a Bachelor of Agricultural Science, Bachelor of Animal Science, or a Bachelor of Agribusiness.

You must be:

  • studying full-time
  • studying in a specific subject area
  • enrolled in the second or third year of your degree
