I am a senior lecturer in the School of Management of Massey Business School, with background in, and focus on, Information Systems (IS). My current research interests include systems and software development with focus on agile approaches, business process management (BPM), text mining and sentiment analysis, and the role of behavioral traits in IT/IS adoption e.g., IT mindfulness.
I hold a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, and Master of Information Technology Management from University of Tehran, Iran. In 2009, I received a full fund scholarship from The University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia and finished my PhD there in 2012 in Information Systems, along which I was heavily involved in teaching undergrad and postgrad courses. I also received a competitive Japanese-based research fund (Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund – SYLFF) during my PhD. After my PhD, I moved to the University of Queensland where I worked as an IT project manager and BPM project manager for five years. In 2017, I returned home (Iran) joining the University of Tehran as an assistant professor of IS. I joint Massey University in June 2019 as a senior lecturer in the School of Management.
In addition to my long-term experience in the academic area, I have an extensive professional experience in IT/IS industry in various positions (ranging from business analyst at younger ages, to project manager, IT consultant, etc). It started with 7 years of professional experience in Iran before starting My PhD, and followed by around 5 years of exciting project management experience in Australia, which collectively informs my teaching and research in the University environment.
I am part of Management, Analytics and Decision Making (MAD) group at School of Management where we are focused on researching the social and human aspects of business analytics, big data and social computing (see ‘Media and Links’ tab for the link of MAD website).
