Richard Forgie has worked for NZ Breweries, Affco, Heinz Watties, McCain Foods, Vision Manawatu and Quest Industries.
He worked for Affco for 21 years managing export meat plants at Horotiu, Rangiuru, Feilding. He also managed Heinz Watties/McCains vegetable processing factory at Feilding.
He has managed a full range of meat processing operations, producing export meat cuts, and by-products including variety meats, processing hides and skins, rendered products, and value-added products.
He thoroughly enjoyed his experience in a dynamic industry, and is now focussed on helping his students understand the science and technology which underpins the modern meat industry.
