Research Interests
My research focuses on girls' experiences of media and their representation in films, television and online. Much of my work has considered mediated intimacies, as well as the potential of media for sex and sexuality education. Teaching and Supervision
Graduate Supervision Statement
As a supervisor, I'm invested in encouraging students’ curiosity, and joining in their excitement and passion for the projects and texts they find energising. I am invested in supporting and developing their research, critical, and writing skills so that they can achieve their goals.
I'm particularly interested in supervising projects concerned with issues of gender, sexuality and queer theory, as well as topics that engage with media forms such as film, television and online spaces. I've also written in the spaces of craft and craftivism and would be interested in supervising projects in this area.
I enjoy working as part of a team where each person brings different interests, skills, perspectives and expertise and am interested in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches.
Dr Kyra Clarke is not currently available for Masters or Doctoral supervision.
