Over 40 years experience in research, teaching, administration and management. Major interests in sustainable agriculture; soil and plant testing and fertiliser recommendations; fertiliser development and evaluation; quality laboratory systems; research management and industry/university relationships.


Roles and Responsibilities

Senior Technical Manager for the Soil and Earth Sciences group of the Institute of Agriculture and Environment, with responsibilities in the Fertilizer and Lime Research Centre, the NZ Centre for Precision Agriculture and the NZ Biochar Research Centre.

Responsible for the organisation of the annual Fertilizer and Lime Research Centre workshop (since 1986) and several professional development short courses conducted on topics related to the soil resource.

Transitional Facilities Operator (pursuant to Section 39 of the Biosecurities Act 1993) for the purpose of managing a Transitional Facility allowing for the importation of soils, plant and other biological materials for analyses.
