Here are some ways to reduce your carbon footprint at home and work.
(Developed by Motu Economic and Public Policy Research.)
If you’re looking for ways to reduce your carbon footprint at home try the Household Climate Action Tool by clicking on the image below. It can give you a rough idea how much you produce in GHG emissions and the steps you can take to reduce them. It’s interactive, so you can see what difference it makes to eat less meat compared with changing your main mode of transport for example.
Try the calculator below designed by Enviro-Mark Solutions.
For information about bike parking at our campuses, events and other information see Massey cycling.
If you are based in Wellington check out the Wellington bike sharing scheme.
If you can’t take the bus or walk or cycle to work, there are a number of freely available carpooling apps that you can use to lessen the GHG load with your car – you could try ‘Smart travel’ below.
If you’d like to carpool fleet or private cars between the Manawatū and Palmerston North campuses or share a taxi between any of our campuses and the airport we have set up a MU Employees carpooling group through CarpoolWorld until we can find a way to do this within Massey – click on the image below to register. You can also use this tool to share rides for general commuting if you’d prefer to only travel with Massey staff.
Add the Massey University car ride group - this is currently only available to staff with a Massey email address as we see how it works.
Choose your trip origin and destination from the drop down list (as below) and add further trip details. Sharing a ride will be cheaper, better for the environment and you might make a new friend!
