Fin-Ed Centre courses
Certificate courses in personal financial management are available through the Fin-Ed Centre. You can do one, or the series. They are designed for people who would like:
- the skills to take charge of their personal finances and/or
- to teach or facilitate sessions on personal financial management.
The courses are delivered by Massey University's financial literacy experts, through a mixture of face-to-face teaching and online learning. A certificate of participation will be awarded upon successful completion of each course.

Financial Capability Pratitioners Course
Financial capability is important for the wellbeing of New Zealanders.
As practitioners who have a role in fostering financial capability you will find this course invaluable for gaining the tools, knowledge and confidence to educate your communities in personal financial management, enhance their financial capability and make a difference to their financial wellbeing.
The course provides further learning/career opportunities to those seeking to enhance their practice in this sector.
The micro-credit requires 100 hours of allocated learning time to complete. You have twelve months in which to complete the programme.

New Zealand Anti Money Laundering Compliance Officer (NZAMLCO)
A strong foundational understanding of a reporting entity's obligations under the AML/CFT Act is essential in today’s market. Non-compliance is bad business – it can result in significant penalties and regulatory action.
A lack of understanding of the Act and obligations can also lead to firms undertaking high compliance costs. This course will develop your confidence and give you the tools and knowledge to comply effectively with the AML/CFT Act within the scope of your own business.
The micro-credit requires 50 hours of allocated learning time to complete. You have six months in which to complete the programme.

Group One Courses
Personal Financial Management
Group one courses are suitable for people who want to improve their own knowledge in managing their personal finances. These courses are designed to encourage individuals to gain better understanding of their own financial health, their understanding of various tools that they can use to take charge of their money.
However, the tools learned in these courses can also be used when teaching or facilitating financial capability courses.
This group consists of 3 courses and the duration for each course is approximately 40 hours in total across 6-8 weeks. As these courses are self-paced, some people finish them in a shorter time.

Group Two Courses
Facilitating or Teaching Personal Management
The two certificates in group two are designed for people who want to be involved in facilitating or educating/teaching others within their own organisation or in the informal setting within their own community or in a classroom setting.
It is assumed that people completing these certificates will already possess content knowledge. If this is not the case, then they may be expected to complete some of the key certificates from Group one.
The duration for these certificates is a total of 60 hours over 10-12 weeks and the participants are expected to complete a minimum of one compulsory contact day. The course can also be delivery through a series of wananga.
