R is a free and powerful software environment for statistical computing, data analysis, and graphics. The RStudio is highly flexible and contains a wealth of functions to carry out standard and non-standard statistical and graphical analyses.
The course runs over two days. Each day will consist of a series of hands on computer workshops.
Each participant will have access to a personal computer running Windows and pre-loaded with R and RStudio, but may bring their own laptop computer (any operating system) if desired, ideally with R/RStudio already installed.
Workshop size will be restricted to 21, with places allocated on a first come first served basis.
Day 1 R/RStudio software system, syntax, handling data and graphics.
Day 2 Statistical modelling and creating publication-ready graphics.
Who should attend?
The workshop is designed for data analysts (both statisticians and non-statisticians) with a solid grounding in statistics who have little or no experience with R/RStudio.
The course will be presented by Dr Jonathan Marshall. who has extensive experience using R and RStudio for research and teaching, and has delivered a variety of workshops and short courses on this software.
The cost is $800, with a reduced rate of $400 to Massey staff and students. Full catering (morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea) is provided.
