Academy lectures

The Academy hosts four public lectures each year and at the Wellington, Turitea, Albany, and Hokowhitu campuses. These lectures are given by fellows of the Academy and are designed to profile important work, encourage debate, and disseminate information.

Visiting scholars

Each year TMoTT hosts a visiting scholar. In 2007 Stephen Pomedli from the Harvard School of Medicine worked with the Academy and assisted with the development of a cultural identity scale for use within the New Zealand Epidemiology study. In 2008, Dr Keawe Kaholokulu will spend a month here exploring research opportunities between the University of Hawaii and Te Mata o te Tau.

Māori academic forum

The Academy also explores opportunities for academic forums and dialogue. It is currently involved with the MANU-AO network, which provides opportunities for Māori academic staff development, collaboration, and information dissemination.
