The Intensive English courses at Massey help students prepare for further university study and learn the academic skills required for IELTS. All students in the English programme work in classes tailored to their English language level. The focus is on the key skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
The Foundation Certificate in Academic English is a direct entry English pathway into pre-degree and undergraduate programmes at Massey University. Students who successfully complete the certificate do not need to sit an external English test to progress on to further study.
The Foundation Certificate in Advanced Academic English is a direct entry English pathway into postgraduate and selected undergraduate programmes at Massey University. Students who successfully complete the certificate do not need to sit an external English test to progress on to further study.
IELTS is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is used. The test covers four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
