New Zealand Historical Association 2021 Conference

Registrations are now open for the 2021 NZHA Conference. This will be held at Massey University’s Palmerston North Campus from Tuesday 23 November until Friday 26 November. The Tuesday will primarily be a Postgraduate Day, focusing on the experience of being a postgraduate and featuring several workshops and mentoring opportunities. The cost of attending the Postgraduate Day is included in your registration fee. The full conference will then open on the Tuesday evening, with registrations from 4.00 pm. This will be followed by the Wiremu Maihi Te Rangikaheke Memorial Lecture, which will open the conference, and a full programme of keynotes and panels will take place from Wednesday to Friday.

The costs are as follows:

  • Early bird NZHA member  $370
  • Early Bird student $185
  • Early Bird non- NZHA member $430

Early-bird registrations close on 1 October. After that standard rates will apply:

  • Standard  $450 
  • Student $235

This cost INCLUDES the conference dinner, which will be held on the evening of Thursday 25 November.

If you can only make it for one day the day rate is $160.

Accommodation ideas

The Massey university halls will be available. There is a 10% discount for our conference with the code NZHA2021

Please note that catering on campus is limited.  Breakfast will be available at the student dining hall but there will be a charge.

Palmerston North is well served with a variety of hotels and there is a bus directly from town to Massey, which travels down Fitzherbert Avenue.
