Massey holds QuakeCoRE Lightning Talks

It’s that time of the year again! QuakeCoRE Emerging Researcher Chapters are holding heats in order to select presenters for the Lightning Talk session at the 2019 QuakeCoRE Annual Meeting in September. Open to PhD and Masters’ students with research relevant to earthquake resilience, Lightening Talk heats are similar to a "3 Minute Thesis" competition, but with a 5 minute, 5 slide format, followed by 2 minutes of Q&A.

Last Wednesday, Massey University hosted the Wellington regional heat and from six excellent contestants, Lauren Vinnell (VUW), Syed Yasir Imtiaz (Massey), Matt Brenin (Massey) and Lisa McLaren (Massey) were chosen as our winners.

A massive thank you to all our contestants and judges as well as best wishes to the winners as they go on to compete in Nelson.
