Successful WREMO workshops held

This April saw the Wellington Regional Emergency Management Office partner with JCDR / Massey University to run a series of five recovery environments (built, cultural, economic, natural and social) to engage with stakeholders and provide feedback to inform the recovery framework currently under development. In order to get balanced and diverse perspectives, workshop attendees included representatives from central and local government,
iwi, community groups, businesses, not-for-profits, and academia. The workshop outputs are being used to directly inform the development of a regional recovery framework, and to improve CDEM engagement before and after an emergency event.

Highlights from the workshops included Hon Kris Faafoi, the Minister for Civil Defence, opening the the Economic Environment workshop and hearing JCDR Director David Johnston speak to the Social Environment workshop.
