JCDR's Emily Lambie and Emily Campbell were part of the organising team of this year's Sir Paul Callaghan Eureka! Young Science Leaders’ Forum, hosted at Government House, Wellington. The theme of the forum was Resilient Communities, Infrastructure and Economies. Hosted by Dame Patsy Reedy, the event was attended by finalists from the Eureka! national speech competition as well as students from high schools and sector professionals from around the region. The challenge that was posed for attendees to explore was — What ideas do you have for building resilience? What are the enablers helping develop resilience? What are the inhibitors?
JCDR worked closely with with Toi Aria, Massey Univeristy College of Creative Arts to develop the forum and look forward to more collaboration in this area. JCDR also acknowledges EQC, Building Better Homes, Towns and Cities National Science Challenge and QuakeCoRE for their support in helping to make the forum happen.
