A focus on the use of Māori language at home, in the workplace, in social situations, in sport and recreation. Students will be encouraged to express ideas and opinions in Māori with confidence and to incorporate new words into the vocabulary as indicated. The significance of local idiom will be an important part of the course.
Note(s): This course is taught entirely in te reo and is only available to students who have completed a BA minor in te reo or a BA majoring in Māori Studies or Māori Knowledge where te reo courses are completed at the 300 level.
Note: You may enrol in a postgraduate course (that is a 700-, 800- or 900-level course) if you meet the prerequisites for that course and have been admitted to a qualification which lists the course in its schedule.
