161.130 Introductory Biostatistics (15 credits)
Applied statistics with emphasis on biology. Exploratory data analysis. Surveys and experiments. Elementary probability and sampling variability. Inference for means, proportions, contingency tables and regression.
- Students should have a good grounding in basic maths. It is strongly recommended that students have achieved a total of at least 20 credits from NCEA Mathematics and Statistics at Level 2. A self-test quiz is available here: basic numeracy quiz.
