Topic for Summer School 2016: Death Comes to Us All
Death is the inevitable consequence to living. When someone dies it creates a range of experiences for those connected to the deceased. It brings the family of the deceased into contact with funereal services who must deal respectfully with family and with the deceased. These professionals face many challenges in an emotionally loaded work environment. This course seeks to use design to assist and improve the experience journey of the funereal process. An interdisciplinary course, students will address a range of existing design challenges provided by funerary professionals.
