212.495 Fashion Design Independent Study (15 credits)

Supervised independent student work on a negotiated topic related to fashion or apparel involving the setting of objectives, research and /or project work and the presentation of appropriate written and/or practical outcomes.

This course is based on supervised independent student work involving the investigation of the interrelationships among processing, structures, properties and performance of a wide range of materials, that may include (but is not limited to); metals, ceramics, polymers, composites, bio-materials, smart materials. This course will benefit students from all majors seeking technical or specialist knowledge of how material structures can enhance the design and performance of products. Project work will allow opportunity to explore individually materials that are of particular interest to other courses and/or projects you are/have been working with in your major.
