287.745 Lean Six Sigma (30 credits)
This course examines continuous organisational systems improvement using the philosophies, tools and techniques of lean six sigma. It covers core essential concepts such as value and waste; process variation; and performance measurement. The block courses utilise a range of practical games and activities that simulate: measurement studies and analysis; process and problem definition; and production or service delivery system improvement.
Note(s): Students will need remote access to Minitab statistical software.
Note: You may enrol in a postgraduate course (that is a 700-, 800- or 900-level course) if you meet the prerequisites for that course and have been admitted to a qualification which lists the course in its schedule.
- Restriction(s): 287.731
- Basic numeracy, mathematical and statistical competence is necessary. Advanced mathematics knowledge (calculus, trigonometry etc.) is not required.
