In the Bachelor of AgriCommerce (Food Retail and Marketing) you will learn about key economics, retailing, management, marketing, branding and communication principles, with a specific focus on the effectiveness of these in relation to food industries.
Your learning will focus on real-world case studies and will include field trips to provide the experience sought by employers.
This three-year world-class programme will teach you about farm production systems, supply chain management, marketing, food economies and international agribusiness.

During your degree you will gain a huge amount of practical experience. This experience will include at least 26 weeks of paid employment undertaken in agriculture and related sectors. That will give you an advantage with potential employers.

A 2017 Ministry of Education publication The post-study earnings and destinations of young domestic graduates showed that those who complete a qualification in a science, agriculture, technology, computer science, engineering or mathematics field of study have high relative earnings after they complete their study compared to the national median. Earnings can be substantially more than other graduates.
There are a number of scholarships available for those planning to study AgriCommerce.

Massey's AgriCommerce programme brings in the most recent developments in both business and primary production, because we actively research in all our subjects. Therefore, you'll have the knowledge and foundation skills for several career paths.
Potential careers include working with affiliated wholesale groups, chain store organisations, food brokerage firms and related organisations, food manufacturing, food service distributors, grocery product wholesalers and independent grocery firms.
