“My rich experience at Massey University not only sparked my interest in pursuing postgraduate study in finance, but also motivated me to be innovative and practical…”
I was truly impressed by Massey Business School, in everything from excellent lecturers, interesting courses, to colourful social activities. It gave me more than I expected.
As well as a thorough knowledge of finance, I learnt how to focus on problems, make a concerted effort to overcome them, and never give up. At the beginning of my thesis, it was very tough because my data results didn’t match my expectations. However, my supervisor and I worked very hard together, trying every possible way to solve those problems until we found success.
I also now recognise the importance of teamwork, as group assignments are common at Massey. These assignments not only helped me gain the ability to deal with conflict, but also to understand the how to be a patient listener and active communicator at the same time. In other words, mutual respect is essential to effectively working in a team.
Studying at Massey also enhanced my time-management skills, my ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure, and my sense of self-fulfilment. I have also become more confident. I am really thankful for the help I received from Massey.
