The Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) will develop your knowledge, skills and practices in early childhood education settings.
Massey is ranked in the world’s top 150 universities for education in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranking.
This is a highly rewarding, full-time intensive programme.
You will be studying at a distance, and will use your independent study skills to pace your study. Along your journey you will have regular online contact and support from lecturers and fellow students around the country.
Each course involves study, reading, assignment work and teaching experience. You can expect to complete 14 weeks of practicum in a variety of early childhood services.
The Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) is a one-year professional pre-service qualification that enables primary-qualified teachers or undergraduate degree holders to become knowledgeable, skilled and reflective teachers in early childhood education.
On completion of the diploma, graduates are eligible to apply for certification with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand as provisionally certificated teachers. As a provisionally certificated teacher, you will be qualified to teach in New Zealand kindergarten and early childhood education settings.
Our graduates have a high success rate in winning jobs as teachers at the conclusion of their initial teacher education programme - why don’t you join them?
