Requirements

The requirements for the Diploma in Arts endorsed in Philosophy are:

  • Pass both
    • 230.111 Tū Kupu: Writing and Inquiry
    • 230.112 Tū Arohae: Critical Thinking
  • Pass 75 credits in Philosophy consisting of:
    • at least 45 credits at 200- and 300-level in Philosophy
    • 30 credits at any level in Philosophy
  • The remaining credits for the Diploma in Arts can be from Part II of the schedule for the Bachelor of Arts degree (including further courses from the endorsement subject) and/or courses offered in other undergraduate degrees.

You cannot take two courses with the same title to count towards your major, for example you cannot take both 134.208 and 134.308 Philosophy of Science. With the permission of the Head of School you can taken up to 30 credits (two courses) from a related discipline, one of these courses can be at 300-level.
