Entry requirements

Admission to the Master of Engineering Studies (Electronics and Computer Engineering) requires you to have:

  • a relevant four-year bachelor’s degree with Honours or equivalent; or
  • a relevant three-year bachelor’s degree plus an honours degree, or equivalent; or
  • a relevant postgraduate diploma or equivalent.

Master of Engineering Studies (Electronics and Computer Engineering) structure

You shall follow a parts-based course of study, which shall consist of courses totalling at least 120 credits, comprising:

  • Part One consisting of 75 credits at 700-level from courses listed in the Schedule;
  • Part Two consisting of 45 credits at 800-level as specified in the Schedule;

and including:

  • any compulsory courses listed in the Schedule;
  • attending field trips, studios, workshops, tutorials, and laboratories as required.

Requirements

Progression

A master’s qualification is made up of two parts. The first part gives you good knowledge and skills that will help you with the research part of your qualification. You must pass Part One before you can progress to Part Two.

For progression to Part Two, you must have maintained a grade average of at least a B- over the first 60 credits of courses completed in Part One, including at least a B grade in 228.797.

Time limits for completion for eligibility for Distinction or Merit

Your 120 credit master's degree will carry the award of Distinction, if completed at a superior standard (equivalent to First Class Honours), or Merit (equivalent to Second Class Honours, Division One) if completed within one year of first enrolling in full-time study or within three years of first enrolling in part-time study.

Maximum time to completion

All requirements must be completed within four years of first enrolling in the Master of Engineering Studies.
