Celebrating the success of our Māori students with their whānau and community is important at Massey which is why the University hosts Celebrations to Honour Māori Graduates alongside the University wide graduation ceremonies. We encourage Māori graduates to attend both ceremonies if possible. While we do not confer degrees at the Māori celebrations, Māori graduates are given the chance to celebrate with all their whānau in a uniquely Māori way. It’s a smaller and more intimate celebration that allows graduates to speak (if they wish) and is followed by a kai. The celebrations are offered in conjunction with the Auckland, Manawatū and Wellington graduation events.
