A Rapid Evaluation Method to Improve Project Decision-Making with Natural Resources
Large infrastructure projects that use natural resources can impose significant economic, social and environmental costs on society. Government agencies whose responsibility it is to fund and implement infrastructure developments are frequently challenged by the time-consuming and expensive complexities associated with determining the economic, environmental and social impacts of large developments. In her research, Ms Reyes developed an integrated, transparent and auditable arithmetic ‘Rapid Evaluation Model’ to aggregate complex data into a pragmatic multi-criteria framework and make it easier for agencies to estimate the trade-offs between the environmental, economic, and social elements of a development project.
