Courier Delivery Services

Massey Library offers a click & collect service and also a courier delivery service for print books.

All staff and students can request:

  • print books that are borrowable to be couriered to your postal address
  • this service does not apply to books in the Recreational Reading collection at the Manawatū Library.

Where will we send the books?

Before you do anything, check that we have your postal address:

Students

  • We will send books to the postal address that Massey has for you. You can log in to MyLibrary to check the address we will use
  • If your address has changed, use the Update Student Contact Details link in MyLibrary to update your address
  • Please let us know if you are requesting books on the same day that you update your address as we won’t get your updated address until the following day
  • An Address Redirection with NZPost does not apply to CourierPost parcels

Staff

  • We will not have your postal address for book delivery, so please fill out the following form to give us your address
  • You only need to fill the form out the first time that you make a request
  • An Address Redirection with NZPost does not apply to CourierPost parcels

More about the courier delivery service

We deliver course- and research-related books to your address and we pay the return postage (within New Zealand only) for the books we send out.

  • Keep track of what books you have out and when they are due back to avoid overdue fines and penalties. Log in to your MyLibrary account to check due dates and renew books
  • The due date is when the item must be back at the Library, not when it should be posted. NOTE: You would normally allow 3-4 working days for return postage; we recommend that you allow slightly longer as courier services can experience delays
  • We send your requests out via CourierPost. Delivery is overnight to most cities, sometimes longer if you live in a Rural Delivery (RD) area. You will need to ensure the courier driver has access to a safe place to leave your books. NOTE: Courier services may take slightly longer than normal at the moment
  • If you are having difficulty or issues with delivery/return of materials at any time, please contact us as soon as possible

Returning Books

  • Recycle the CourierPost bag by turning it inside out (so it is "grey" on the outside) as this will save you time and money
  • If you choose to use your own packaging, make sure the packaging is robust, and do not use staples to secure your parcel
  • Use the Freepost label supplied or you can print more using this template:

  • Attach the label securely, take the parcel to a Post Shop and it will come back to us at no cost to you.
    • Alternatively, you can return your books in person to any Massey University campus library by their due date.
  • Please do not include any correspondence or payments with the books, as these are processed by another section in the Library
  • If you are going away, please return all Library books before you go, or arrange for someone to return them for you.
