First aid information

We have first aid kits and trained first aiders throughout the campus, a number of sick bays, four Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) and wheelchairs for use in an emergency.

Defibrillators and oxygen cylinders

These can be found at:

East Precinct

  • Library Lending desk; Ext. 41072 (defibrillator only)

Oteha Rohe

  • Facilities Management, Building 34; Ext 43434

Defibrillator also available at Albany Village Public Library (Kell drive)

Security can be contacted on ext. 43100 or (09) 443 9777, to transport the defibrillator in an emergency.

Staff have been given training in this life saving device, however this is not necessary to use the equipment.

Wheelchair

This can be found at:

These all contain a bed, basic 1st aid supplies and a list of the current 1 st aiders on campus.

These rooms are locked and the key can be obtained from the local reception or from Security, signage on the door indicates where the key is kept.

If you use the room for treating a work-related injury, ensure you report the injury or accident by completing a Massey Accident report form.
