Use of the rooms

Teaching and Learning

If using the spaces for teaching and learning purposes, staff new to the VLT rooms must first request a professional development session through the local campus Centre for Teaching and Learning at least one week before the booking. A professional development session on using the VLT rooms for teaching and learning purposes will be available before the start of each semester.

The primary use of the general video linked teaching rooms is for academic staff to deliver papers using innovative and pedagogically sound practices to groups of students on more than one campus. For more information regarding this, please see the principles of use.

Non-teaching meetings and events

If using the spaces for one-off meetings, the staff member booking the VLT rooms (or nominee) must be familiar with the rooms and the one-button **VLT Presets**, which are expected to meet your needs.

If any variations on the presets are required, staff must contact the Service Desk at least one week before the meeting to submit a VLT Planner and ensure that the room can be set up as required.

In addition, someone must arrive at one of the VLT rooms 30 minutes before the scheduled meeting start time in order to test the appropriate room layout. An ITS support person may be contacted using the phone provided in the VLT rooms should you experience any technical difficulties.

You are strongly encouraged to participate in one of the VLT technology training sessions which will be available several times a year before using the rooms for non-teaching meetings and events.
