Creating a standard assignment drop-box

  1. Click the Turn editing on button at the top of the course page (Fig 1).

  2. Click on Add an activity or resource on the right hand side of the centre column (Fig 2).

  3. Select the Assignment option (Fig 3). Note: If you are using Lightwork please select Assignment 2.2 as it will not function with the latest assignment option.

  4. Click the Add button at the bottom of the window (Fig 4).

  5. Enter an assignment name and description (Fig 5). Note: If you want the Description to show, tick the Display description on course page check box below the description box.

  6. Set the assignment availability dates and times and choose whether the student needs to click the submit button (this is recommended) (Fig 6).

  7. Configure the other items in the Assignment Settings section (Fig 7). If you are unsure about a setting then click on the question mark icon.

  8. Scroll down to Submission settings section and select Yes from the File submissions drop-down menu if you would like the student to submit a file (eg Word document) to be assessed (Fig 8).

  9. In the Feedback settings section select Yes from the Feedback files drop-down menu if you would like to return a file (eg annotated Word document) to the students (Fig 9).

  10. Click the Save and return to course button (Fig 10).
