Setting up a rubric in Stream

  1. Access the marking guide by clicking on the relevant assignment.

  2. Under Settings in the left hand column, click Advanced grading (Fig 1).

  3. Select Rubric in the drop-down box in the centre of the page (Fig 2).

  4. Select Define new grading form from scratch (Fig 3). Note: If you have already created a rubric, you will have the option to use that as a template, see the Using a template to create a rubric section below).

  5. Enter the name of the rubric in the Name box (Fig 4).

  6. Click Click to edit criterion name and enter a heading for the criterion (Fig 5).

  7. Click Click to edit level, and then, click on 0 points to allocate points to the level (Fig 6).

  8. Click +Add level if you wish to have more levels (Fig 7).

  9. Click Add Criterion to add another row to the rubric and continue as above (Fig 8).

  10. Select rubric options (Fig 9).

  11. The Save as draft button will allow you to make further changes at a later date without having to make it ready. The Save rubric and make it ready button will enable you to use the rubric in Stream.

    Note: You can still edit the marking guide whilst in use, but this may affect marks/grades.

Using a template to create a rubric

  1. Following the instructions up to step 4 and then select Create new grading form from a template (Fig 1).

  2. Select the include my own forms check box (Fig 2).

  3. Click Use this form as my template (Fig 3).

  4. Click Continue (Fig 4).
